UNIQUE AND SERENE LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT

As a professional landscape photographer who travels throughout North America, Europe and Asia, Scott Amling’s photography inspiration comes from his discovery of new locations and the landscape of structures and natural phenomena he experiences that often go unnoticed. An exhibit of his work, that can be described in fine art photography terminology as minimalist in approach, is on display in the John Wayne Airport Community Focus Space from October 15 – November 14, 2018.

“Visitors and residents alike will enjoy Mr. Amling’s unique style of minimalist images that are both alluring and calming,” said Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairman Andrew Do. “As you travel through John Wayne Airport, take a moment to enjoy his captivating photographs.”

Amling’s early childhood spent traveling with family on driving trips through small towns in America along with studying architecture in college, contributed to his ability to bring innovative perspectives and vantage points to his work. Gradually moving from film and large format photography to digital, Amling began to study and learn new techniques with premier landscape photographers including Michael Levin (known for his ethereal black and white landscapes). He has won numerous awards, including First Place for “Seawall at Sunrise” at the 53rd Annual Newport Beach Art Exhibition, and four Honorable Mentions from International Photography Awards for his photographs of landscapes and nature. His art can be found in private collections in Newport Beach, Los Angeles, New York and Japan.

Amling’s photography exhibit may be viewed on the Departure (upper) Level near security screening areas in Terminals A, B and C, and on the Arrival (lower) Level adjacent to Baggage Carousels 1 and 4. To learn more about Mr. Amling’s work, visit his websites at www.scottamling.com.

Upcoming Community Focus Space Program includes water color artist Nancy Caldwell (November 14 – December 13).
