The Airport Arts Program, overseen by the five member Airport Arts Commission, presents museum-quality exhibitions in the Riley Terminal, provides periodic special programs in conjunction with the exhibitions and sponsors a countywide Annual Student Art Contest/Exhibition. CALL FOR ARTISTS

JWA Call for Artists, 2019

Orange County-related visual artists are invited to apply for one month solo-style exhibitions in the John Wayne Airport Community Focus Space (CFS) program’s exhibition calendar. Exhibition slot openings begin December 17, 2020.

The completed application packet with images submittal dealine is 4 p.m. on November 15, 2019. Email applications to JWAArts@ocair.com.

FLIGHT OF IDEAS

A large scale three-dimensional sculpture that is installed above the baggage carousels in Terminal C. The sculpture is composed of 21 aluminum birds with wing spans ranging in size from three feet to 15 feet suspended on an "S" shaped structure 100 feet long. Created from aluminum and polycarbonate Plexiglas, the wings of the birds display enlarged portions of multi-colored aeronautical charts. John Wayne Airport commissioned the artist Beth Nybeck of Kansas City, Missouri to create this art work for the new Terminal C.

JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT CELEBRATES THE ANAHEIM DUCKS 25TH ANNIVERSARY

A new exhibition featuring commemorative artwork, posters, hockey jerseys, and memorabilia celebrating the Anaheim Ducks 25th Anniversary and chronicling the history of the Orange County franchise is on display at John Wayne Airport. Ticketed passengers can view the exhibit through December 2019.

Location: Departure (upper) Level, across from Gates 2 through 5 in Terminal A, Gates 18 through 21 in Terminal C and in the free standing cases near Gate 14.

Exhibition Dates: September 2019 through December 2019

Laguna Art Museum Turns 100

"The Laguna Art Museum Turns 100" exhibit is on display at John Wayne Airport's ORANGE COUNTY: Destination Art & Culture exhibition space through June 2019.
